"People also call me Rip-Off."
Rodney in iGot Detention

Rodney "Rip-Off" Goober is a character who attended Ridgeway High School. He sold merchandise described as "questionable", such as burritos (when he was in detention). Rodney also sells concert tickets, food, and other things. In iDon't Want to Fight, Rodney trades two tickets to a Cuddlefish concert for Sam's iCarly T-Shirt. He also sold Laotian peacock feather tissues to Jeremy for twenty bucks in the same episode.

His nickname is Rip-off Rodney, because of the outrageous prices that he puts on the things he sells.

The only appearances he made were in the Season 1 episodes iDon't Want to Fight and iGot Detention.

In iGot Detention, he got detention for selling fake hall passes. He got caught because he spelled "hall" wrong by using only one "L". In this episode, he says to Carly "Call me Rip-off" when she introduces him to the iCarly viewers.

According to a video on the official iCarly website, his last name is "Goober."

He returns in the revival episode iReunited and It Felt OK. He is reunited with Freddie who he shares some banter with. Rodney does not seem to recognize Carly until she jogs his memory by revealing that she previously went to the school before senior year and that he sold her some material in the past. He then understands the reason he didn't recognize her at first is because he believes anything before senior year is irrelevant. Much later, he watches Carly save Shane from a potentially fatal injury and celebrates her success. He is last seen having his photo taken with the class of 2013.

Trivia[]

  • Rodney's nickname "Rip-Off" comes from the fact he sells items at a much higher price than necessary. An example of this was in IDon't Want to Fight, when he charged Sam $100 each for 2 concert tickets.
  • He might have dyslexia as he misspelt hall, although it could have been just a typo error and he didn't check the spelling to change it.
  • He believes anything before senior year is not necessary and irrelevant.
  • Rodney is shown to still overcharge items in iReunited and It Felt OK, when he charges Carly $50 for a backpack every time, if she fails to climb the rope.
