Note: I'm probably going to get a lot of hate for this blog from my fellow Seddiers, but I'm mostly making this blog to express how I feel and sort it out a bit. Also, I can't really help how I feel, sometimes. So, as much as I wish I didn't feel this way, it is what it is.
Okay, so you've all seen the promo for iLost My Mind. In the promo, we see Sam and Freddie sitting together, eating dinner at a restaurant and looking like they're having a good time. I think it's safe to assume they're on a date. From this assumption, we can also assume that Sam and Freddie have finally come to terms with their feelings and have started dating.
Now, all of that seems wonderful, but it raises an important question:
So, if Sam and Freddie start dating how will this change things? Will anything even change?
One of the major reasons I personally love Seddie is ironically because of how their friendship has evolved over the years. They've gone from sworn enemies, to close friends and now, suddenly boyfriend and girlfriend?
In your mind, you always expect things to play out a certain way, and in my mind, I didn't expect Seddie to happen this way. Sure, I expected them to bring up the kiss and discuss it; I expected them to feel differently about eachother and perhaps share cute but awkward moments with eachother, since the feelings were now out in the open. However, I did not expect them to just "jump in" to dating...at least not as quickly as the very next episode. I guess what I'm saying is that I just simply expected some romantic tension between them all throughout the 5th season and into the finale. In which case, they finally admit their feelings for eachother and start dating then.
My main concern is that dating will change them. Sam will feel the need to be nice to Freddie. Don't get me wrong, I am all for Sam being more respectful to Freddie, but if done in the wrong way, we are losing a major Seddie element. I mean, Sam and Freddie being completely civil to eachother just wouldn't feel right; it wouldn't feel like Seddie, anymore. If the personalities of the characters are messed with too much, we could easily get another Creddie.
Worse, if Seddie suddenly becomes Creddie (hypothetically) will it have the same tragic end as Creddie????
I honestly am not trying to bring anyone down here. This is just what is going through my head, at the moment. Hopefully, the episode and the remainder of the series will totally PROVE ME WRONG.
In the meantime, please feel free to disagree with this blog. In fact, I encourage it. If somebody could change my outlook on all of this, that would be awesome.
