Sam beating Freddie a sign that she loves him?

I’ve noticed that a lot of Seddie shippers are convinced that beating, abusing, and name-calling Freddie is her way of expressing her feelings. Some say they think it because she is shown as tomboyish and tough and doesn’t want to show her soft side. I have to admit you have a point but there have also been other guys throughout the series that she has liked (I.e. Jonah, Shane, Pete) and she never hit and abused them; so why would she consider doing it to Freddie? I don’t know, but I’ve been thinking about this for a while.
